Scripture Summer School 2024:
Praying the Word
In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year 'Pilgrims of Hope', 2024 has been designated a Year of Prayer by Pope Francis. For our Summer Scripture School this year, we explore some of the examples of prayer found in the Bible. The course will take place online, and in-person in Maynooth.

"Salvation" – you've heard it mentioned in the Scriptures, at Mass, and in prayers. But what is it all really about? While there can be no one, simple "answer" to that question, the Bible does provide us with many images and ideas about what "being saved" is all about, and why it matters.

A Biblical & Historical Visit to Turkey to Mark the 17th Centenary of the Council of Nicaea
To mark both the 2025 Holy Year, "Pilgrims of Hope," and the Council of Nicaea, the Dominican Lumen Centre and Tarsus Scripture School have come together to plan a visit to Nicaea (Iznik today) and Constantinople (Istanbul). In fact, we will be visiting three of the four places where early church councils were held: Nicaea (325), Constantinople (381) and Chalcedon (451). For further information, click on the links below.
