I've registered on Eventbrite – how do I access the course?

The registration for each course opens a number of weeks before the course goes live on the date indicated on the Eventbrite page and the website. Once the course goes live, you will recieve an email from Eventbrite with the details and password that will allow you to access the videos which are found under resources in the menu above.

Do I need anything to participate? What do I do if I have questions?

You just need yourself to participate! You will find PDF handouts to accompany each presentation, and links to the biblical texts online in the video descriptions. If you have any questions, you will have an opportunity to pose them during one of the two live webinars for the course.

You can also access Biblegateway from within the site's navigation: just go to the resources menu and click Online Bible. The NRSV or RSV would be the recommended translation of scripture scholars.

What if I want to learn more – where should I begin?

If you're interested in deepening your understanding with Scripture, you will find a number of recommended sites and resources in the Further Study section of the "Helpful Information" menu.

Accessing the Course Resources

Where do I find my password, and what happens if it doesn't work?

Your password will be emailed to you via Eventbrite on the day that the course goes live. If your password does not work, double check the letter casing and spaces. For the Holy Week & Easter 2023 course, note that the password begins with an uppercase letter and has no spaces. 

There's an issue on the resources page – what do I do if a button does not work, or I can't find a setting for a video?

While we've tried our best to make sure everything on the resource pages work and provide the best experience possible, there's always things that slip through the net or could be improved. If you notice something amiss, please let us know by email and we will try to remedy the issue as quickly as possible. 

Issues might be a button not working, or redirecting you to an incorrect page or resource. Similarly, there are numerous settings for the videos, some of which might be accidentally disabled when being added to the site (e.g., the fullscreen option, or volume control).

Accessing the Webinars

How do I access the webinars?

The webinars take place via Zoom on the dates and times listed on the details page for the course. At the bottom of the resources page for the course, you will also find a countdown timer indicating when the link will go live – the page will be updated at that time and the link displayed as well as emailed out to all participants. You will also see a banner displayed on every page of the website on the day of the webinar that will have a link to the meeting.

What happens if I encounter a problem trying to access the webinar?

If you cannot find the link, or are having trouble with getting Zoom to function, please contact us as tech support will be on standby to assist.

What happens if I cannot attend or miss a webinar?

The webinars are recorded and will be published afterwards in the webinars section of the resource page so you'll be able to catch up on anything you missed. If you were unable to attend a Q&A webinar, you can always email any questions you might have. Only the sound and video of the presenters are recorded in the webinars.
