17th-21st June, Maynooth & Online

Praying the Word
In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year 'Pilgrims of Hope', 2024 has been designated a Year of Prayer by Pope Francis. Undoubtedly, prayer is a fundamental part of the spiritual life, but it can also be a daunting concept for many people. What do I say? How do I say it? What does prayer even mean, or what are some good examples? For our Summer Scripture School this year, we aim to provide a biblical approach to these questions by exploring some of the examples of prayer that can be found in the Bible.

Course Details
This year's course will take place in person as well as online, with each presentation both live-streamed and recorded so it can be revisited at any time. For those who plan to come to Maynooth, there will be the option to attend daily Eucharist, and there will be time each day for you to study, reflect, or simply explore the beautiful campus grounds and surrounding town.

Each presenter will have four presentations spread out across Monday to Thursday taking place at 10:30, 12:00, & 14:30 daily. On Friday, a slightly different schedule will operate as there will be a panel discussion, Q&A session, and Lectio Divina facilitated by Prof. Séamus O'Connell. There will also be optional evening events for those attending in person and staying on campus.

Programme
A detailed course programme will be available towards the end of April, however, each speaker will present on the following topics:
